Are you living or merely surviving in this wonderful world
of opportunity? Do you have dreams or goals you wish to accomplish? If so, what
are you waiting for?

I recently viewed an inspirational video, Steve Jobs: How to live before you die on Ted.com
featuring co-founder, former chairman and CEO of
Apple, Inc and Pixar Animation, Inc., Steve Jobs. He was the guest speaker at Stanford University's commencement ceremony in 2005. The overall message was to live before you die.
Steve Jobs used three inspirational stories from his life to help graduates, faulty and attendees gain a better understanding of where he came
from, where he’s been and how he got there. Throughout the speech, he stressed
the importance of taking chances and making mistakes. Mr. Jobs believed that
each one of his experiences in life, whether positive or negative, prepared him
for future challenges. From dropping out of college to being fired from his own
company, Steve Jobs mastered the art of making lemonade out of lemons. He
created one of the most powerful companies in the world!
I was touched by Steve Job’s words because they reminded me
of what my mother preached and practiced every day of her short life. “Live
each day to the fullest,” is what she always said. My mother died at the tender
age of 38, but left this world with no regrets. Although she suffered from Sarcoidosis, a rare
lung disease, most of her adult life, she accomplished each one of
goals/dreams. Like Steve, she valued each lesson learned along the way and used
them to overcome challenges. Her legacy lives on through me.
Steve’s message helped me to regain focus on what is
important to me. Life is too short to do something you don’t enjoy. This is
exactly why I decided to follow my passion and return to the music industry.
From this day forward, I vow to live before I die!
